Another Boston Wounded Vet Run has come and gone.  Things were a little colder and wetter than we would have liked, but any day on two wheels for a good cause is a great day.  Much appreciation goes out to NH South and Hatchet City Chapters, as well as family and friends who joined Boston Chapter on this incredible run.  

This was our first large run of the year, and we were proud to participate.  Thousands of bikes, a very well organized police escort, and department support along the way brought out the crowds along the route to show their support for our disabled veterans.   We hope this is going to be an indication of how the summer will progress:  Fun, riding, and brotherhood.   We've started our weekly rides, so if you or your organization wants to join us for a ride to dinner, just contact us for this week's starting or ending point.  Law abiding bikers only.  Stay safe out there.

     We get a ton of emails asking us to support various events.   Keep sending them, we'll add them to our calendar.  We also get emails asking about our club, what we're about, and how to become a part of it.   I realize this will eventually get pushed down, but I thought I'd paste what my typical response is.   The best way to find out is to join us for a ride or an event.  

     It's almost spring here in the North East.  This can be the most frustrating time of year.  Tuesday I had the bike out, today there's snow on the ground and it's 20 degrees out.  Enough.  Bring on riding season.

This time of year is one of the busiest for our club.  The holidays are over.  The snow is at it's worst.  You can count the days until spring, but it still seems far away.   Now is the time we plan our riding season, schedule our events, organize our National Party/Meeting, and ignore the mountain of white stuff in the driveway.   The planning that takes place now ensures a great summer.

January is also when the cabin fever parties usually start, and this year is no different.  First we traveled down to the cape to party with our southern chapters and a few like minded clubs.  We saw some old friends and partied a little late.  We can't wait to do some riding down here this summer.

The following week was the annual Boston Wounded Vet Run Cabin Fever Trophy Party.   This party shouldn't be missed.  Great people.  Great cause.  We were joined by our chapters from the north and south, which won us a trophy for "Most Represented MC".  Great work, brothers!  We also made our annual donation to the cause.   The ride is in April, and is always off the hook.   It can't come soon enough.

Blue Reapers MC - Boston and Blue Reapers Nation wish you all a healthy, prosperous new year.  We cherish the friendships we've made, mourn the losses we've shared, and thank our supporters.  We're appreciative of every relationship we've built and look forward to the great things we can accomplish in the coming year.

As the new year begins tomorrow we resolve to increase our assistance to those in need.  Ride like there is no tomorrow.  Be there for our brothers and be thankful for the bond we share.  Family and brotherhood make life worth living.    Happy New Year!

     Merry Christmas!  Another year is coming to a close and we're already busy planning our summer riding season.  It's going to be a busy year!  If you have rides or events you'd like us for, let us know now.  If you already have written confirmation, you're all set.   We're leaving much more time for fun rides this year, too.  Maybe a few iron butt rides and "where the road may take us" camping trips.   Let us know if you want to come along.  

     Blue Reapers MC - Boston did something a little different this holiday season.   As much as we love a good party, we decided to "share the wealth" instead of having a Christmas party.  We were directed to a family that had fallen on tough times, and decided to make this season a little better for them.  We made a list and checked it twice, then loaded up 4 vehicles full of presents and Christmas dinner for Mom, Dad, and kids.  I don't remember EVER seeing that many presents.  The smiles on the kids' faces was worth it.   I think we found a new tradition, and I hope it spreads to our other chapters. Thanks to the guys from NH South Chapter who dropped by to help.

It seems like a lifetime ago that a small group of like-minded men sat down in a Chinese restaurant and discussed the idea of starting a Motorcycle Club.   We discussed the work.  We accepted the commitment.  We agreed to shoulder the burden.  We were already brothers, we just didn't have a patch.  Brotherhood starts in your heart.  

That dinner led to a meeting shortly after.  We had no designs on growth.  We simply wanted to take what we already had as a group and make it formal.  That night, Blue Reapers MC was born.   Since that night we've endeavored to live our idea.  We support as many law enforcement and veteran's charities as we can.  We've ridden untold miles together.  We've shared good times and supported each other through bad.  During our travels we've made new friends, and some of those friends have become brothers.  Our patches are earned, and the road to brotherhood is not easy.  It's an important part of the process, because brotherhood is not always easy, either.   Our vision was not a large club.   Our vision was a strong brotherhood.  

With that, Blue Reapers MC would like to announce the addition of TWO NEW PROSPECTIVE CHARTERS!   After many miles, a few beers, and much discussion, we've granted prospective charter status to Hatchet City on the south coast of Massachusetts and NH South in southern NH.  Those of you who ride with us or attend the same events already know these guys.  They've been riding with us for quite some time as they worked through the first stage of this process.   We only accept men who strengthen our brotherhood, and these guys are it.   We're excited for the work ahead and look forward to planning next summer's events.

Congratulations to our newest brother Scootah!  Blue Reapers MC is NOT a "pay to patch" club.  Our patches are earned.  Therefore, it's a proud moment when a prospect completes their probation period and is welcomed as a full patched member of Blue Reapers Motorcycle Club.

We've also had a few promotions, so be sure to congratulate any new officers you see.  As our club grows, it becomes stronger.  We have a few irons in the fire, but we're still focused on brotherhood and charity.  That's what it's all about.  Two wheels with close brothers.

I can't believe August is almost over!  Where did the summer go?

It's been a busy summer for Blue Reapers MC.  When this club was founded, it was founded on brotherhood and charity.  We've stayed true to that foundation and had a great time doing it.   We had no intentions on expanding our club, but apparently there was a need in the MC community for a no bullshit law abiding brotherhood that just focused on riding, brotherhood, and charity.   As such, we have several announcements on the horizon.   As our club grows, so does our bond.   

     Many of our rides are in support of the community, charities, or various causes.  The town of Londonderry, NH asked us to participate in their Old Home Day Parade and we were honored to accept.  We've done several parades over the summer and how they're organized makes a difference.  Londonderry did a superb job putting this together and it went off without a hitch.   Thank you to the Londonderry Old Home Day committee and the town of Londonderry.   We look forward to seeing you again next year.

     As summer winds down the number of events we have booked dwindles.   This is the time of year we love.  Cooler temps.   Fewer tourists.  Open roads.  This time of year is for us.  We have a few trips planned for our club and it's supporters.  If you've asked to ride with us and it just hasn't happened yet, now is the time.  Drop us a line and we'll discuss a trip to your neck of the woods.   This is the REAL riding season.

     When meeting clubs or people for the first time, I'm often asked "Who are you guys?"    When you think about it, that's a pretty odd question.   My first thought is usually "you don't get out much".   If you are an active rider in an area we ride in, you probably know who we are.  You've seen us on the street.  You've watched us in local parades.  You've ridden with us in charity events.   We're a very active club.   If you've interacted with us at all, you know what we're about:   Brotherhood.

     Probably like every other club that started from scratch, we sat around a table asking ourselves what we were going to be all about.  In the end, we didn't need to give it much thought.  We'd all known each other for quite some time.  We'd ridden together extensively.   We've shared good times and bad.  We'd be brothers if we didn't own motorcycles.   I trust each and every member of my club with anything and without question.  If we wore a tag line on our cut, it would probably be something like NBOB.  No Bullshit, Only Brotherhood.  Since Brotherhood and HILD (Honesty, Integrity, Loyalty, Duty) are our cornerstone, our prospective members have to fit with us.  They have to be someone we welcome into our homes and lives.   Some people are a natural fit, others aren't.   One thing I hear often from individuals and clubs we associate with is "you guys are a real tight group".    Fortunately, people who approach us for membership are drawn by this and usually fit right in.  It takes a special kind of person to associate with others on a level playing field with honesty and integrity.  Those are the people we accept.   

     We take the same approach to prospective chapters.  We'll get emails saying "I have 15 guys who want to start a chapter".  My response is typically "you have 15 BROTHERS who want a charter?"   That's rarely the case.  Usually it's 4 guys who are like brothers, 5 guys who are friends with 1 or 2 of them, and 6 guys who think it would be cool to have a patch.   We don't want that.  I'd be more serious about a chapter request that said "I have 3 life-long friends who want to form a chapter".  That's manageable.  The number isn't important.  The brotherhood that exists within that number is.    We aren't about the numbers.  We're about the brotherhood.   

     I guess that still doesn't answer the question "who are you guys?"   It does tell you WHAT we are, though.  We're brothers.  We share a love for two wheels.  Our wives and associates are a large part of our family.  We support our local charities.   We support our local causes.  We support each other.   If you see us on the road, don't send me an email later saying "I saw you at such and such event".   Walk up and say hello when you see us.  We'll swap stories, have a beer or 10, and leave friends.

Happy Independence Day!  Blue Reapers MC celebrated our nation's independence on two wheels, as usual.  We'd like to thank the town of Burlington, MA and Patriot Riders MA Chapter IV for their hospitality.  We were honored to be asked to ride in their 4th of July parade.  It was certainly a scorcher, but a great time was had by all.   We'd love to do it again next year!

Since it was a long holiday weekend for some of us, it was far past time to put some serious miles on.  On Saturday one of us completed the New England 1000.   1020 miles in 18 hours.  Now THAT'S a Saturday ride.  RT 2 from Bangor, ME to Burlington, VT is a beautiful ride.  If you get a chance to head that way, do it.  What's next on the long agenda?  1500 miles in 24 hours for the extreme version.
